Every Summer, downtown Ann Arbor transforms into a sprawling month-long Festival event running from the first week of June through the first week of July.

Ani Difranco June 5th

A powerful artist in every sense of the word, the near-legendary performer Ani Difranco returns to Michigan to perform her iconic brand of folk music, poetry, and storytelling at the Power Center on June 5th.

Ms. DiFranco will be performing in support of her newest album Binary and, in a bit of departure, she will be supported with a full band. The show will start at 7:30 pm.

Top Of The Park

The Ann Arbor Summer Festival features indoor performances and also the outdoor component also known as Top Of The Park. You can find Top of the Rock starting at 915 E. Washington St, in Ann Arbor.

Dozens of not hundreds of local and national artists will be performing from the O&W Acoustic Stage at the Top of the Park position of the Ann Arbor Summer Festival. Some of the artists to look out for include Dani Darling, Kate Peterson, Hullabaloo, Mae Erlewine and The Motivations, and a wide-variety of other diverse acts.

In addition to the music artists and vendors, Top of the Rock is also known for its Movies by Moonlight series. This year, the movies series includes Wonder Woman, Some Like It Hot, Minority Report, and many others.

The Illusionists Table

Throughout the festival, a series of unique dinners, hosted by Scottish mentalist and storyteller Scott Silven, will be hosted at the Ann Arbor Club which is located at 103 E. Liberty, 3rd Floor, Suite #300.

During each of these dinners, 22 strangers will experience an amazing three-course meal together complemented by amazing illusions and with tales from Mr. Silven’s childhood. The experience was so amazing the New York Times simply concluded, “Wow. Wow. Wow.”

Beyond the illusionist table events, downtown Ann Arbor is home to one of the best restaurant cultures anywhere in Michigan, exploring offers many dining rewards.

“The Capitol Steps” Moved Closer To Your Ann Arbor Hotels

Unofficially closing out the festival, The Capitol Steps return for their annual July 4th performance. This group of former capital staffers performs together in order to bring the fun back to comedy again. Regardless of what side of the aisle your politics lean toward, be prepared to laugh.
