Michigan Football

Coach Jim Harbaugh was on the recruiting trail but took time out to attend a high school game in Alabama and announce the winner of the school’s homecoming queen contest. This week his Wolverine’s will face the Fighting Illini of Illinois University at Michigan’s own homecoming game. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. at the Big House.

 

Electric Tap Dancing Down the Street from Ann Arbor Lodging

The University Musical Society is bringing “Dorrance Dance” to the University of Michigan Power Center on October 20th and 21st.

Dorrance Dance, led by 2015 MacArthur Genius grant winner Michelle Dorrance, will perform excerpts from two works, ETM: Double Down and SOUNDscape. The show starts at 7:30 on the 20th and 8:00 on the 21st.

 

Welcome to Nick Offerman

Not everyone knows that Nick Offerman (star of stand up and of the NBC hit Parks and Recreation) is a well-known carpenter. Mr. Offerman will be appearing this week at the Michigan Theater to read some of the stories from his book “Good Clean Fun” about the Offerman Woodshop where he, and other woodworkers make everything from canoes to bats..

The event is being held at the Michigan Theater but is hosted by Nicola’s Books. The show will start at 7:30 p.m.

 

Sports Options for U of M Parents and Fans

Good luck to all Michigan Athletes, family, fans, and friends at home or on the road, Go Blue!  

Men’s soccer will play Ohio State on October 21st at 7:00 p.m. at the U of M Soccer Stadium.

Men’s Ice Hockey will play Michigan Tech  on October 21st  at 7:30 p.m. and on October 22nd at 7:30 p.m. with both games being played at Yost Ice Arena.

Women’s swimming will hold an intrasquad and alumni meet for homecoming on October 22nd. The meet will start at 10:30 a.m. at Canham Natatorium.

Women’s Volleyball will play Penn State on October 22nd at 7:00 p.m. at Cliff Keen Arena.

 

Looking For Laughs?

The Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase brings comedian Jeff Brennan to Ann Arbor, If you are easily offended, you might want to put your scruples to the side as Brennan plays and sings his famous song parodies . Mr. Brennan has been on Showtime as well as Evening at the Improv.

The shows start Friday and Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. and at 10:30 p.m.
