The week of  March 9th brings “Rock Star” Physicist Neil Degrasse Tyson and the “Benny Green Trio” to Ann Arbor.

Michigan Football

Coach Jim Harbaugh recently finished up his Spring practice trip to Florida’s IMG Academy. Most of the press seems to be picking Michigan as a co-favorite in the Big 10 next year and are also talking about the Spring Game happening under the lights at Michigan Stadium on April 1st.

Neil deGrasse Tyson

One of the “Rock Stars” of physics, Neil deGrasse Tyson, will be appearing at Hill Auditorium on the campus of the University of Michigan to present “An Evening with Neil Degrasse Tyson: Innovation, Arts, and Entertainment on March 23rd.

Mr. Tyson is the star of the show “Cosmos,” the host of “Star Talk,” and the author of “Space Chronicles.” The show will start at 7:30 p.m.

The Benny Green Trio

The Benny Green Trio will be performing at the Kerrytown Concert House on March 26th. Mr. Green famously played with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers and is currently on the faculty of the University of Michigan School of Music.

The trio also includes Juilliard alum David Wong and Rodney Green. The trio will perform at both 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Sports Options for U of M Parents and Fans

  • Softball will play Northwestern at the Wilpon Complex on March 25th starting at 4:00 p.m. on March 26th starting at 2:00 p.m. and on March 27th starting 1:00 p.m.
  • Baseball will play UIC at the Wilpon Complex on March 25th starting at 4:00 p.m. on March 26th starting at 3:00 p.m. and on March 27th starting at 1:00 p.m.
  • Women’s Rowing will compete against both Michigan State and Indiana at Belleville Lake on March 25th starting at 5:00 p.m. and on March 26th starting at 8:00 a.m.
  • Men’s Tennis will play Penn State at the Varsity Tennis Center on March 25th starting at 6:00 p.m.
  • Women’s Tennis will play Indiana at the Varsity Tennis Center on March 26th starting at 12:00 p.m.
  • Men’s Gymnastics will have a match against UIC at Cliff Keen Arena on March 26th starting at 2:00 p.m.
  • Women’s Tennis will play Purdue at the Varsity Tennis Center on March 27th starting at 12:00 p.m.
  • Women’s Lacrosse will play Colorado at Michigan Stadium starting at 1:00 p.m.

The Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase brings comedian Jim McHugh to Ann Arbor for performances on 24th, 25th, and 26th. Mr McHugh has been seen on Comedy Central, HBO, and MTV.
